BODEGA
SPEAKEASY BAR & UNDERGROUND MUSIC VENUE
1089 BROADWAY IN BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN
2008-2009
In 2008, Chief leased an old bodega/grocery store and built an underground music venue. Keeping with the outward appearance, we called it BODEGA and even constructed a bodega-like front room.
Working with Ed Zipco and Steve Roberts, I developed the BODEGA from an empty shell into a profitable music venue. I booked performers, facilitated the events and staff, as well as managed all marketing and promotions for the venue.
The BODEGA hosted doznes of parties and events ranging from all-night, dirty dance parties to all-ages punk rock matinees and just about everything in-between.
Throughout the year we hosted events with numerous partners including MyOpenBar.com, CMJ Music Festival, BAM Sounds Like Brooklyn Festival, Capcom with Street Fighter IV, as well as independent production companies.
Some of the bands and musicianss who performed at BODEGA include: Spank Rock, Ninjasonik, Monotonix, The Death Set, Japanther, Boogie Boarder, Le Rug, Smarts, DJ Dirty Finger, Mr. Andersonic, DJ Morsy, The So So Glos, Juiceboxxx, USA Is A Monster, Fiasco, & dozens more.
