THE PRATTLER
PRATT INSTITUTE'S STUDENT PUBLICATION
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, 10 ISSUES
2002-2004

During my freshman year at Pratt Institute, The Prattler (a school-funded, student publication) was nothing more than a leaflet detailing a map of campus and a list of student events. I started working at The Prattler as a writer and was soon handed the position of Editor-In-Chief. Collaborating with Art Directors Mike Force, Jeff Campbell and Adam Bezer, I aimed to produce a publication that spoke to the creative, innovative students of Pratt.

I steered the publication towards a magazine-like format in both design and editorial. In my two years as Editor-In-Chief, I produced 10 polished issues relating to themes such as Justice, Faith, Technology, War, Post Modernity and Freedom (with 3-D glasses).

Working at The Prattler I learned how to collaborate with a creative team of writers and designers, how to manage a production budget and how to successfully publish five annual issues of the magazine.

Some of my Prattler articles were republished in my book, "Welcome to the Land of Cannibalistic Horses", including the essay "Face to Face with the Post-Orgy Dilemma: The 3rd Annual BET Awards".
