Continuing Education

The Yard: Space to Learn is a school to give entrepreneurs the skills they need to succeed.

The co-owners at The Yard have hired me to curate and organize this curriculum of continuing education classes. September’s classes include How to Kick Ass on Kickstarter, Get That YouTube Money, Hustle Harder: Get Paid for Your Creativity, as well as Photoshop 101 and business development courses.

The 27 educators I’ve hired are experienced and knowledgable entrepreneurs, business executives, and venture capitalists.

If you are interested in teaching a class, or would like to make suggestions or give feedback, please email

Quit Your Day Job: Young, Brooklyn Entrepreneurs in Discussion

posted in EVENTS, VIDEO

Presented by The Yard: Space to Work

Produced by YOU ARE ALL YOU NEED

I organized and produced this event and video as a collaboration between YOU ARE ALL YOU NEED and The Yard, Williamsburg Brooklyn’s unique co-working space.

This premiere event featured four successful business owners (start-‐ups, impresarios, movers and shakers) presenting their companies and concepts before a seated audience. Hosted and filmed in The Yard’s relaxed open-space lobby, this event was free to the public aiming to inspire and encourage our entrepreneurial community to meet, mingle and exchange ideas.

Four entrepreneurs presented the concepts and histories of their businesses and openly shared the stories of how they got to… quit their day jobs.

Featuring:
Firat Parlak, F&T Creative – Boutique Design Agency
Katie Klencheski, SM&KK Studios – Creative Services Group
Rob Behnke, Brooklyn Salsa Company – Conscious Method Salsas
Jen Dunlap, Art Direction – film and advertising

Cup & The Yard in The WG

The WG News + Arts – Keeping it local.

I wrote two stories for the current issue of the Williamsburg Greenpoint News + Arts newspaper. Each story profiles a local Greenpoint business: Cup, the coffee shop on Norman Avenue, and The Yard, a new co-working facility on Nassau Avenue. Both businesses are a stone’s throw from my loft and it was a pleasure to meet with the owners and craft profiles of businesses in my neighborhood.
