The Williamsburg / Greenpoint News + Arts Newspaper
I wrote a couple of stories about bicycling in NYC, including a profile of Josh Zisson and his Bike Safe Nation initiative. Pick up a copy of the newspaper at local bars and restaurants. Or visit the site online.
Here’s the archive of all my WG stories.

I wrote a story for The WG about Zablozki’s bar, a Williamsburg fixture since 2004. In my opinion, Zablozki’s has the absolute best happy hour in town and has many evenings been my home away from home. Learning the history of this bar from Ari and Ali Zablozki was very touching and inspiring for me. I hope you enjoy their story as much as I did.

I wrote a story for The WG about Beer Street, an intimate shop of unique beer and beer items from all over the world. Meeting with Lorcan Precious, the proprietor, was a great pleasure. If you’re in the neighborhood, please do stop by and pay him a visit. And don’t forget your growler.

The WG News + Arts – Keeping it local.
I wrote two stories for the current issue of the Williamsburg Greenpoint News + Arts newspaper. Each story profiles a local Greenpoint business: Cup, the coffee shop on Norman Avenue, and The Yard, a new co-working facility on Nassau Avenue. Both businesses are a stone’s throw from my loft and it was a pleasure to meet with the owners and craft profiles of businesses in my neighborhood.

Lately I’ve been collaborating with a team of designers and illustrators to develop and fulfill a number of upcoming projects… 2012 is gonna be crazy. I’m damn excited. And in preparation for launching these new, client-based initiatives, we’ve built a creative brand as a home to house these various projects.

YOU ARE ALL YOU NEED: a community of creatives based in New York City with professional networks spanning the globe.
Last weekend You Are All You Need hosted a Holiday Pop-Up Store and Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Dozens of artists and artisans crafted holiday ornaments to be exhibited for sale, with a portion of proceeds donated to The Food Bank for New York City. Alongside the ornaments, we curated a selection of items available for purchase including jewelry, apparel and artwork, all made by local artists. We hosted events both Saturday and Sunday in the Pop-Up and will soon be publishing video of the weekend.
Meanwhile, Happy Holidays!

My friend Matt Prins has a calm brilliance to his ways. For years now he’s been maintaining a website showcasing Instabooks, books he has made, books his friends have made, and now one book I made. My book is titled “A” Is For Alligator.
Matt asked me to make an Instabook starting with the letter “A” as part of a series of Instabooks called: Alphabooks. For the second year now, Matt Prins has petitioned 26 creative individuals to make a book, each for a letter of the English language alphabet.
Please check out my Instabook and keep up with the daily publishings throughout the next weeks at Instantbooks.wordpress.com

For the current issue of the WG News+Arts newspaper I wrote a story about the record shop on Guernsey Street: Co-Op 87.
I really enjoyed chatting with Mike at 87 and I encourage everyone to support their local record shop.

Fun with photo books.
In July I took a road trip with my friends Mike and Scott. We drove from Charleston, SC to Denver, CO. Using the Hipstamatic app for the iPhone, I took hundreds of photos on the road. We made stops in Asheville, Louisville, Sweetwater, Nashville, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Abilene, including visits to The Grey Hound Hall of Fame, The Lost Sea, and the Jim Beam distillery.
The book is 5.5″x8.5″, perfect bound, 182 pages with nearly just as many photographs. Â Printed through MagCloud.
